No Tuesday'sTip this week or hangout this month.

My apologies to all here in the LVUG Community - there was no Tuesday's Tip this week and we won't have a hangout this month. My mom was in the hospital over the weekend and got out late Tuesday - she is fine but emergency room always a scare.

On top of that, after years of talking about it, my parents put their home on the market in June (and sold it that weekend). Needless to say the process of selecting the new home (a independent retirement community) and organizing the move has made the past 6 weeks a bit of a whirl for all of us (especially one of my sisters and me as we happen to be close by). Everything will be done and my parents moved by month-end (a great 2 bedroom cottage with lots of amenities).

Long story short - will back on track by the end of July! Really appreciate my fellow moderators who have welcomed new members, answered questions and provided tips. It is all about working together here at the LVUG Community.

  7. We just appreciate all you do and totally understand! So smart of your parents to make that move now. We moved my mom to assisted living (greatly needed) kicking and screaming. Not pleasant.

  8. They have been looking for awhile and when they found the cottage idea, they really liked it. There is also more of a condo style as well as an assisted living and memory care all on the grounds so you can "age in place" or move to the next area if you need to. For now it is all about less housework and cooking for my mom and less yardwork and maintenance for my dad. Luckily they "downsized" about 10 years ago so there is much less to move/give away this time.  But no matter, moving is always a bit time-consuming and stressful.
