Working with notes and reports in Legacy - can we move things around?

Folks here solved my last question, so I'm hoping there is a simple solution here, too (perhaps buried deep in options)... (My question is at the end, if all my explanation is too long and unnecessary) With my previous software (Generations), I put much of my collected information on an individual in the "Notes" field.  In Legacy, I'm working my way through thousands of people in my database to  catalog Events properly.  BUT I still have information that better fits Notes, such as stories and things that don't fit into an event item and really fill in the holes.  In Generations, the Notes information would come after the vital statistics in a report.  In Legacy, the Notes and Research information comes first in the reports I've generated - that is weird to me because it results in a story about someone before the basic chronology of the person is given.  So my question: Is there a way to tell Legacy to put Notes information AFTER the chronologica...

How to print a report of birth, baptism and death notes - help.

Is it possible to print a "report" of all birth, christening, death notes?

Tuesday's Tip - Putting a print date on reports.

Tuesday's Tip - In answer to Elizabeth's question on putting a print date on reports - here are a few images to walk you through it. I think it is a good idea to include your publishing information - draft, unpublished, research, whatever, and include if you want to require permission to use. Be sure to click the box for including a print date (real helpful when you want to compare various versions). Hope that helps. (Google has changed the upload feature so hope this works right).

Descendant Reports - how to get a print date?

Hi Everyone! I am getting ready to re-issue some descendant reports and I am wondering if there is a way to put a print date somewhere.  I am starting to get confused about just when I last printed a report. Thanks and Happy Thanksgiving to all.

Report options & Event options in Legacy.

Image
James Spencer I hope the screen shot makes it clear. Of the three smaller windows in the screenshot the bottom is the main reports window and in the bottom middle of the page you will see the Report Options button. Once you click on that you will get the middle window and clicking on Event Options will bring up the top one.

Reports in Legacy - some questions.

I am rather new with Legacy. I want to get reports from Legacy that will help me get further detail from family members - so I want to print out a descendant chart showing every bit of detail I have of each person. So I will send Sally such a chart of all the descendants of her grandfather and see will see what I have of her parents and their siblings and of her and her siblings and of her kids. Is there a report like that?

Question about printed reports.

Is there a way to get a printed report in the same format as the web pages that are generated? (The web pages are great to get people to see what you have and where they fit into the whole scheme...) As an example - here is one branch of my family's web pages: http://genealogy.johan-potgieter.com/ueckermann http://genealogy.johan-potgieter.com/ueckermann

Working with reports - how to fix marriages?

How do I get marriages to display in the right order on a Descendant report in Legacy 8 Deluxe?  I chose Reports->Family Group->Descendant.  For some people, the 2nd wife displays first.  It's not using the marriage date.  Then I thought it reported the wife with the lower RIN first or the lower MRIN first, but that's not it either.  Any ideas?

Has anyone tried creating an RTF output of a Registry Report?

Has anyone tried creating an RTF output of a Registry Report with a lot of sources? I just discovered that the latest version of Legacy 8 creates two sets of end notes. One set is just for sources that are attached to notes. The second set is for sources that are attached to everything else. I can’t publish a report with this issue. Has anyone else seen this and found a workaround? Legacy was made aware of this in early January, but has yet to resolve the issue.

Question about Descendant book report - help.

I have a problem with the Descendant Book Report that I can't figure out.  My stepson is in his second marriage.  He is a 5th generation descendant of the main person the report is generated on.  No matter what I do his second marriage shows up before his first message (as shown below). Jason married on , in . Children from this marriage were: Jason next married in 1992.  The marriage ended in divorce before 2007. The child from this marriage was: I have a similar situation with my wife (who is a 4th generation person in this report).  This is the second marriage for both of us but the report reflects our situation correctly.  I looked at the marriage list and thought that maybe it was based on the marriage record number since I entered Jason's second marriage first.  I deleted and recreated the second marriage so that the index numbers would be sequentially correct but that didn't help either.  In fact I think I did the same wit...

Issue with printing a descendant book report - thoughts?

Seeing the following behavior in Legacy 8. Wondering if I am doing something or if others are getting the same behavior: I am trying to print a Descendant Book Report. The preview shows the Title Page Body (Generations) Pages and Index Page I've defined. When I print from the Preview display, I get the whole report. However, if I print from the Print button on the Options page, I only get the Body Pages; no Title Page or Index Page. Huh? Anyone else see this?

An answer to question about Narrative Reports.

In answer to Domokos Nagy-Vajda question about Narrative Reports - switching the order of names in this report does not appear to be an option. This is where I looked and what I found. Hope it helps. Other ideas from our LVUG Community?

Question on narrative reports in Legacy.

So glad to find this community. I have a small issue to solve in Legacy and I hope somebody can help me. Do you know any way or workaround to change the order of personal name in various reports? I would like the first names to appear after the surname in a descendant narrative report. Any suggestion would be welcome. Thousand thanks :)
