Working with reports - how to fix marriages?
How do I get marriages to display in the right order on a Descendant report in Legacy 8 Deluxe? I chose Reports->Family Group->Descendant. For some people, the 2nd wife displays first. It's not using the marriage date. Then I thought it reported the wife with the lower RIN first or the lower MRIN first, but that's not it either. Any ideas?
Barbara McGeachy It goes by which marriage is the preferred marriage I believe. You can find this by clicking on the spouse list icon {the first icon under their information}and then clicking on the spouse and then clicking the Set to Preferred button below the list. Let me know if you need some screen shots.
ReplyDeleteThe simple answer is that you need to edit the order of the marriages.
ReplyDeleteFor anyone that you have more than 1 marriage, a number greater than 1 should show up in the icons under their name on the main screen. CLick on that icon, and search around till you find where you can change the order of the marriages, Number 1 is the first marriage, etc.
Hopefully this is more clear than mud. If not, we shall try again. LOL

Yes, Shannon Thomas, that is right! For my example with 4 marriages, I sorted the marriages in the marriage list and now the report is correct. Thank you so much!!
