Just watched Tessa on Legacy webinar.
Loved the info! I'm new to Legacy 8 (just switched after doing the Genealogy do over--Hey Thomas MacEntee).
We started out as a Google+ Community - it is closing down so we have migrated here to Blogger. This will be the place for 6+ years worth of posts and comments (an archive of sorts) as well as the place to dish up current questions, comments, and tips about our genealogy software of choice, Legacy Family Tree.
Hi Linda Debe welcome to LVUG. Let us know if you have any quesions.
ReplyDeleteLinda Debe - so glad you enjoyed the webinar. I think you will find Legacy easy to use (just work with the features you need at the start and you wont' get overwhelmed).
ReplyDeleteThanks Michele Simmons Lewis and with your knowledge of Legacy I am sure you can answer some of the questions we will get in June.
ReplyDeleteso much social media, so little time, right
ReplyDeleteAt least with google groups...i dont get as distracted from BSOs like i do on facebook. ***BSO....bright shiny objects that distract me from my current task
ReplyDeleteI agree Linda Debe I focus on the subject and am in communities that are quite different from each other - I find it intuitive (something I still struggle with in Facebook) but it is good to have choices.
ReplyDeleteHate to be a "me too" ... but the Webinar was indeed very useful. Gave me the push I needed to further investigate Legacy, and to actually join the Guild of One Name Studies. Excited!
ReplyDeleteThrilled Mark Stickle - if you have any questions we are happy to help (won't always know the answers but we try). And we would be happy to have you join the Guild. What surname(s) are you interested in?
ReplyDeleteHi Tessa Keough and thank you! I did the Guild application and 'paid my dues.' They are very thorough and well organized. I love that. I am inclined to do my patronymic surname: Stickle/Stickel. I have already completed quite a bit of groundwork, and have a database of a couple thousand names. I do sense that the Guild has a strong English/UK tilt, and my folks go back to both England and the German states.
ReplyDeleteThe Guild of One-Name Studies is adding more and more one name studiers from other parts of the world - in fact at the recent WDYTYALive event many joined the Guild who attended the European Ancestors session so it is definitely branching out. Germany will be some interesting history and records to check out. It sounds like you are ready to hit the ground running Mark Stickle.
