Misspellings in census records and transcribing information.

Considering the extent of misspellings in census records, how far do you go in re-transcribing before entering in your database? Or do you?

Questions about adding a census.

Adding a census. I started in Chapter 3 of Legacy Family Tree Version 9 Unlocked. On Page 70 Geoff added an unlinked male named John Williams. When I got to Page 92 where he showed the updated Chronology view of John Williams all I had was a Census and Occupation entry. Where did all the other info he had come from? I did not have a birth, anything about his spouse or children being born. Does each of these items have to be keyed in as an event? Does the info come from info keyed for John Williams?

Using shared events with a census.

I am a new user of Legacy Family Tree. I am using shared events to record a census. I am having trouble with changing the event role of the primary person that the event is shared from. I would like to change the event role of the primary individual to Head of household, but can't seem to find the right screen. Has anyone else had this same issue? I'm sure it is just a matter of finding the right screen, but the help file does not appear to be helpful in this matter.

How to enter census events?

I'm new to Legacy 8 and wonder if anyone has advice for how to enter Census Events.  What do you put in the Notes section and how do you format the information?
