Legacy LVUG Community

I have tagged all the individuals with the surname Smith in my database. Now I want to tag all the spouses for those individuals. How do I do that?

To all members of The Legacy Virtual Users' Group Community, My thanks for all of the answered questions throughout the year and my best wishes to all for a happy, healthy, and safe holiday season. And, of course, I am ending the year with a question.  I have a large database where I store all of my "unrelated" people with the same surname.  I would like to take a portion of that database and move it to a new one.  And I don't remember how to do it.  The Help Index is not very helpful I think because my brain is not in gear.   Any suggestions are most appreciated> Elizabeth

I poked around the Legacy help files a bit but couldn't figure out the answer to my question, so here I am. I'm starting out with Legacy and have entered direct line ancestors for me and my husband.  I've input birth and death dates and tagged the 150 direct line ancestors with Tag 1. I have started entering the 1910 census and my tree is starting to grow as I add siblings to my direct line ancestors.  I want to concentrate my Legacy research on the direct line. As my tree grows how can I best generate a report that will show me the direct line ancestors who should be on a certain census? For example, when I get to inputting the 1880 census, how can I generate a list of Tag 1 individuals who should be in the 1880 census? I shouldn't have to sift through hundreds of other individuals as the tree grows. I'm sure there's a way to generate a list of Tag 1 individuals alive in 1880, for example. Thanks!

Continuing on with our marriage theme this month, I have found that the search feature and advanced tagging are my friends as I am working through marriages in my Legacy database. I would not suggest anyone work with Ancestry.com today (it has suffered a service glitch and is having "issues" - saw an apology for the service glitch during one of the few times it was up and running for me today). So what's a gal to do? Well I know that I have several marriages in two States that have great online records - Minnesota and Washington . I decided to run a search focusing on marriages in each of those States and used the advanced tagging feature to check if I need a source (or a better source) for those marriages. I printed off PDFs for each State and am slowly but surely working my way through the list. Lucky for me, the Washington Digital Archives has great search capabilities and provides lots of detail.
