We had a wedding in the family last weekend. It was a big, noisy, wonderful Italian/Irish/Slovenian event - complete with pre-functions (4 showers, as well as bachelor and bachelorette parties), the rehearsal (a bit like herding cats) and rehearsal dinner (about 80 attended that - neither side has small families), the nuptial wedding mass, the reception, the day after family picnic, and the small (only 40 attended) opening wedding presents get together with the bride and groom (which closed out the weekend). That evening they took off for their honeymoon to be followed up with 2 more receptions, on the East Coast and in the Maritimes. My first thought was I need to use my smartphone to take lots of photos and some video (the bride's parents' toasts were so amazing and so heartfelt). Here's an example of the marriages in the wrong order on Reports -> Family Group -> Descendant.  This lady was married 4 times. The report shows her marriages in this order: 1951, 1959, 1944, 1936.  How do I get the report to show them in chronological order?  This problem occurs for many but not all people with multiple marriages.

How do I get marriages to display in the right order on a Descendant report in Legacy 8 Deluxe?  I chose Reports->Family Group->Descendant.  For some people, the 2nd wife displays first.  It's not using the marriage date.  Then I thought it reported the wife with the lower RIN first or the lower MRIN first, but that's not it either.  Any ideas?

He married 5 times. He married the 3rd wife twice, in other words before and after the 4th wife. I have a date and document for their second marriage but not for their first, i.e. his third. I know she was the third because they had two children and I know their dates. While he was married to someone else (his 4th) she kept his surname. I'm inclined to put their second marriage into Events and leave the marriage information blank. What do you think?

I have 2,168 marriages. Now how many of those marriages have all the necessary information (spouse's name, date of marriage, place of marriage, source for your information)? How would you go about finding out about missing information (hint - the search feature). I am taking a look at my marriages, and right away I have 55 individuals with an unknown spouse - so I know the first bit of research I am going to focus on! I plan to use the month of June to clean up my "marriages" information in Legacy. How is your database in regard to marriages - all clean and tidy or could it use a little clean up? Why not share your marriage stats and tell us how you keep track of any work to be done in regard to marriages .
