Is there a way to put a blank line to separate the events in group sheets?

When printing a family group sheet, is there a way to put a blank line to separate the events.  I have some that will put a blank line, but the majority don't.  I have looked on the report options and can't seem to find a way to do this.  Thanks

Tuesday's Tip - Interview those greats!

(I know it has been a few weeks - all that moving stuff is finally sorted and I have gotten my own life sorted - well, as much as any of us can!) Today's tip hits close to home and serves as one of those life lessons. My great aunt died unexpectedly last week (a car accident). She was my grandmother's only surviving sibling and lived to the age of 99 (in January 2016 she would have been 100). She was in relatively good health and had a good long happy life. In fact she had spent the day with family and friends - canning and putting up whatever her garden had produced. I spent time with her last year - visiting and taping her memories of family and her life on the farm. I had planned to visit her again in early September to follow up on our conversations and review some documents she shared with me. Sadly that is not going to happen.  I was able to meet up with extended family and friends at the funeral and listened to stories. Happily some people shared their email add

File maintenance in Legacy.

Why do these two files come up every time I open Legacy? Legacy7Update[1].txt news7[1].txt And again when I run File Maintenance? Is there a way to make them go away permanently?

Making a decision to upgrade or update or change software.

There's probably no question here, but I wanted to tell my story in case others run into people facing this (or a similar situation) in the future... I used Generations for my genealogy software from 1996/7 until 2014. I knew I was on borrowed time for many years because FTM had bought out Generations in ~2002(?) and never released another update before withdrawing it from the market. To put it in context, I think it was designed to run on Windows XP at best (maybe not even that). Nevertheless, it continued to run on my computer with each new Windows operating system until some sort of update last summer (even after Windows 8 came out). I tried to back out of all recent system updates when I discovered the problem but could not get Generations to function properly again, although I could still access all data and produce reports, export, etc. I compared the latest genealogy software and finally selected Legacy. It had an import for Generations, but if I remember correctly

Potential problems and the index view - a question.

Can I put the Potential Problem indicators on Index View?

Shortcut for data entry.

Image
I have found a way to cut down data entry from sources that change very little, like Swedish Church records.  The first time I tried this I did it with fear and trembling, but it seems to works.  I will outline what I did here: My great uncle Johan Knut Carlsson appears in several Swedish parish record books  The only difference is the book number and the date range. 1) After making the entry for the first entry in book AI:56 (1858-1862),  I then 2) will select the same source and make the entry to the detail sections and then save.  This time he appears in book AI:62 (1863-1867) 3) I  then click on the Edit Source button, and make changes to the Source screen. 4) NOW for the word of CAUTION.  When you click on the SAVE  button, Legacy will give you a choice . Click on the SECOND OPTION: "2.  Apply the changes to a NEW copy of the master source."   This will create a new master source and leave the original the same.  If you mistakenly choose option 1, you apply all the

Marriage entries for an ancestor.

Here are the marriages for Albert - he has 4 spouses - when I look at the list - it shows the multiple marriages to the same woman, where her's only shows 2 spouses which are both Albert. when I added the 2nd marriage to Lillian I did add new marriage and then link to existing person and found her in the name list.
