File maintenance in Legacy.
Why do these two files come up every time I open Legacy?
Legacy7Update[1].txt
news7[1].txt
And again when I run File Maintenance?
Is there a way to make them go away permanently?
We started out as a Google+ Community - it is closing down so we have migrated here to Blogger. This will be the place for 6+ years worth of posts and comments (an archive of sorts) as well as the place to dish up current questions, comments, and tips about our genealogy software of choice, Legacy Family Tree.
I've never seen that. You might want to contact the technical help
ReplyDeleteLynda Avery I've noticed that when I try to connected Legacy News to the Internet the text files come up there too instead of the Internet. Something's jammed somehow.
ReplyDeleteOk, I'll answer my own question. Support says they made changes to something on their site that [may] prevent access from the Home tab. As it surely does. However, these two annoying text documents show up every single time I open Legacy (v.7.5) and have been for weeks; one for News and one for Updates (which no longer exist) and I have to shut them down before continuing on with my work.
ReplyDeleteI found a solution to this. On the Home tab is an option under Options to shut off the Internet connection unless a link is clicked. The default is the other one, Allow Legacy to connect...
That stops those text documents from being automatically generated and if I want to see Legacy News I'll have to go to their site.
The upside of this is that Search Internet still works. Crossing my fingers they don't break anything important.
