Any Mac Parallels and Windows users here?

Any Mac Parallels and Windows users that feel up to the challenge of walking me through that quagmire?? LOL I have installed both, but, I'm just not sure about screen views, etc. To date, Support assistance from Parallels has been polite, but, failures. I will also need a few hints on installing Legacy, since I have my photos installed on C drive on the ole Windows machine and now they will be installed on my user name on the Mac. I have this gut feeling that Legacy is gonna need to relink all of them?? Good grief, there are over 18,000???? Well, maybe what I need is someone to hold my hand and pour my drinks?? Of course, this is something that should be attempted OFF group. Thanks

I am using Legacy 8 and it is not showing maps.

I am using Legacy 8, and when I go to the master Location list the map is not showing and it is not verifying The location, I have show map checked . Does anyone know how to fix this?

Misspellings in census records and transcribing information.

Considering the extent of misspellings in census records, how far do you go in re-transcribing before entering in your database? Or do you?

I am working with Legacy 9 Photo Album and Scrapbook - questions.

I am working with Legacy 9 Photo Album and Scrapbook. I have tagged just a few of the 25 pictures I have linked to an individual. In Media Gallery, under Options, there is a selection to "sort media by date." But, I did NOT enter a date into that field in the description of the pictures. Is there any other way to rearrange the pictures to be in chronological order? Also, once I have set up a format within Photo Album that I like, where can I save those settings for future and consistent style printings? Or do I just need to do a screen shot and save it that way to reference at a later date.

Why we monitor the LVUG community.

It seems that every so often we get an influx of people who want to join the Legacy Virtual Users' Group Community. We moderators do our best to check the individuals before we accept or reject them. Reasons to reject : (1) clearly appear to be bots - no information, no posts, no other communities followed. (2) clearly in sales - we don't sell anything on this site and are not interested in our Community being targeted for sales. (3) blue heads with no information posted that we can see relates to family history or genealogy - I know some don't include avatars but if there is nothing that indicates a person has an interest in genealogy we question why they want to join. BUT sometimes an individual gets past that first check (although our moderators are great) and if that happens, we usually catch it by their posts. Every so often I go through the list of members to make sure we don't have bots. If you are here for genealogy and Legacy Family Tree disc

Using notes in Legacy for wills - comments.

I want word processed copies of wills in order to put them into Legacy notes if I want to put them there. I have a copy of a literal transcription of a 1683 will and thought I would be smart to use that with OCR and would save myself some word processing time. Unfortunately, I didn't consider that the language in the transcription would make that almost impossible. OCR can't deal with fift (fifth), ffuller (Fuller), Compitent (competent), etc. Many of you probably have already dealt with this, but I thought I would share. It is hard to word process something like this because you yourself "want" to type the words correctly.

How do I get nicknames to print in Legacy reports?

Anyone know how to get nicknames to print in reports? I only get the 'main' name.
