Copying multiple events between people in Legacy.

Hi All, Is there any way to copy multiple events between people in your tree. I was specifically thinking of census entries which I record as Occupation and Residence events. Thanks Keith

How to print a report of birth, baptism and death notes - help.

Is it possible to print a "report" of all birth, christening, death notes?

Hangout schedule?

Are the Legacy Virtual User Group hangouts still taking place on the 3rd Thursday?

Okay - monitoring who joins our LVUG community.

Okay - for the second (and hopefully last time) we have had those interesting folks join our LVUG Community. Thanks to the eagle eye of Monique Riley - they were seen and banned. Thankfully Google has added a feature that allows us to remain a Public Community but change our membership policy from open joining (everyone welcome) to ask to join (this gives us a bit more admin work but makes sure those pesky porn folks don't get through the gate in future). As my gran would say - you would think they would have something better to do with their time. We should see this change take place immediately - thanks again to my great co-moderators for catching this! And now that I have got all the planning and prep down for RootsTech, we will be back to our regular schedule of Tuesday's Tips. In the meantime, do remember to check out Legacy's tips that get published at their website and attend the Wednesday Webinar if the topic is something that you can put to use with your own g

Master locations with New York - how to enter the locations?

I just discovered that the boroughs of New York are actually the counties. Do other people list the location as Queens, New York, New York as we tend to think of the boroughs being a section of the city, or New York, Queens, New York since each borough is technically the county for that part of the city?

Using snipping tool - how to add snips into Legacy notes?

I've been using the Windows clipping tool a lot and tried to paste a clipping into the general notes section with no success.  Is it possible to do this?  I changed the clipping into a pdf image and that still didn't work.  Thanks for any advice!

Always monitoring new members to our LVUG community.

Some of you might be wondering why our LVUG Community membership numbers jumped around overnight. Thanks to Monique Riley who noticed that we had a number of "members" with no names, blue heads, and/or rather inappropriate names and interests. I guess the beginning of the year brings out those odd folks. Thankfully due to some quick culling work - they have been banned. Heads up to all members (new and old). We have an open community because when we originally started I wanted people to feel free to join. We really haven't had many problems with this open system. But every once in a while we have to go through the membership list and determine if there is no name or an odd name whether that person is interested in genealogy, a real person, someone trying to sell something, or (our favorite) a porn site (jeez!). It helps if you have an avatar and/or if you have some mutual genealogy friends or are in mutual genealogy communities, and/or if you have posted something ge

Adding an image but can't see it in its entirety.

I am having a problem. I am trying to add a copy of WWII Draft Card to one of my ancestors. When I put it under Research, you cannot see all of the card. So I put in in the media under picture the 1st time, but came up in the picture frame next to his name. I don't want this information to show in that frame. I tried saving it as a document instead of a picture, but the same thing happens. Where can I save this document, that I can see the entire document?

New to Legacy from Family Tree Maker - some questions.

This is my first time to post to anything - apologies if I do something wrong. I'm new to Legacy - about 2 months - after using Family Tree Maker for about 6 months - left it just before they announced they were discontinuing it! I was used to the Family Tree Maker method of have both a master source and a master source citation (corresponds to "details" in Legacy). So if I realized I had forgotten to source some detail, I could just go back to the specific citation and apply it to the correct field. With Legacy, when I find myself in that situation, I have to totally recreate the detail before I can cite something properly that I missed the first time.   My question is: is there any way to reload a specific set of detail source information onto the clipboard from an existing, already assigned source detail.  In other words - I can see the information in the Assigned Sources box, and I can edit it if I want, but I can't "grab" it so that I can assig

I am using the multiple source function for the source clipboard.

I can't seem to figure out how to choose the source from the clipboard that I want to add to an individual or event. Are there specific instructions for that?

Tuesday's Tip - Putting Legacy on a new computer.

Tuesday's Tip - We are 5 days into the New Year and like many people, Santa brought me a new notebook ( I will keep believing as long as I get to enjoy the Christmas spirit, the Christmas spirits, and lovely gifts that come my way !). I read up on how to put Legacy on my new notebook (thanks Millennia for making that process so easy). I also had saved my settings when I backed up my Legacy family files - so I knew I could mirror my 2015 look and preferences. But in the spirit of the New Year I decided to backup (on my soon to be retired notebook) and then restore Legacy (on my squeaky clean and new notebook) and then run through customization (our preferences) - found at the Options tab. It took about 10 minutes to run through everything and now my family files have a new look (but most of the same preferences). And I am now saving my Legacy family data files in OneDrive - so no matter where or when I work with my Legacy files, no worries about "versions." O

Trying to edit a Master Source.

I edited the bibliography portion, however, the Subsequent Citation remains the same.  The source is the WV vital records website. When I originally set up the master source I categorized it as death records.  I should have used Vital Records because now I have a marriage record. Is there any way to do this without messing up the records I have already entered?  Thanks so much for any help.

Beginning to do research on my German immigrant family.

I'm just beginning to do research on my German immigrant family. I have located the place of birth for my great-grandmother, but I'm not sure how to enter the locations into Legacy. I've been using the 4-place naming convention for US place names: city, county, state, country, but it appears that Germany may have 6 place names. What is the typical naming convention for German place names? Her place of birth was listed as Schornweisach, Baiern, Germany. On a modern map I've located it in: Schornweisach, Uehifeld, Neustadt an der Aisch-Bad Windsheim, Mittelfranken, Bayern, Deutschland.  I'm sure that is not the location for 1861 when she was born.

Happy New Year everyone.

I have just discovered that Legacy can compile my database into html ready to put up onto the web. Sweet! But the result does not look quite the way I would like. So with a bit of diligent study via Google into the vagaries of html coding a managed to get what I was wanting. In a nutshell I wanted to place a “For more information click HERE” on various people’s pages that would provide a link to more detailed discussions rather than clogging up the page with reams of data. So I edited the appropriate html file directly. But then I found some missing information and entered it into Legacy. Then I re-ran the html compiler and shock, horror ALL of my careful modifications were wiped out. So here is the question. How can I incorporate additional html code so that it make changes as above but not be wiped out by a data update and re-compile?
