Adding an image but can't see it in its entirety.

I am having a problem. I am trying to add a copy of WWII Draft Card to one of my ancestors. When I put it under Research, you cannot see all of the card. So I put in in the media under picture the 1st time, but came up in the picture frame next to his name. I don't want this information to show in that frame. I tried saving it as a document instead of a picture, but the same thing happens. Where can I save this document, that I can see the entire document?

  1. I have events for both WWI and WWII drafts.  When you add the media there, it won't show up as the person's picture.

  2. Have you tried attaching it to the Event itself?

  3. First, if you do not want to see the picture/image by his name, you have to mark/unmark the image. In Multimedia there is a method to mark a particular photo as the preferred photo. Look for the little check mark to the top right of the photo/image in the Multimedia area.

I digitally edit all photos/images. I crop out all the junk that usually came with those records. Then, I reduce the digital size to something at about 120 pixels per inch, and about 7 inches wide (on my Adobe Photoshop, those numbers seem to suit me the best).

IF I have a full sized image that I wish to maintain, I may or may not link it, sometimes I save it elsewhere and do not link directly in Legacy. I have some images/photos that are quite large, I don't need that size for working in Legacy, but, I may want them that large later for any possible printing and sharing with others.

Also, have you examined the image/photo from Multimedia after you have added?? Click on the image, it opens to another screen, you can then, enlarge or make smaller, scroll up and down, etc.

If I mis-understood, my apologies. Good luck.

  5. Wonderful.  Always a couple of ways to work around an issue.  Glad you found one that works for you.
