How to print a report of birth, baptism and death notes - help.
Is it possible to print a "report" of all birth, christening, death notes?
We started out as a Google+ Community - it is closing down so we have migrated here to Blogger. This will be the place for 6+ years worth of posts and comments (an archive of sorts) as well as the place to dish up current questions, comments, and tips about our genealogy software of choice, Legacy Family Tree.
Yes. Go to search and then find and then the detailed search tab. Look for whom -- Individual, Where to look -- Notes-Birth, How to look -- Not Equal to, What to look for -- leave this one blank. Do the same thing for christening and death notes. Click on Create List (make sure clear list before this search is checked). When your search results come up you can print a report. I did not figure out how to print the notes but it will give you a report of who has notes. If this is not clear let me know and I can do some screen shots to explain it better.
ReplyDeleteThank you ... I was actually able to figure out how to do the search and find the people that have notes before asking the question, but I can find no way to actually print the notes for those people. It seems kind of silly to be able to find the list of people, but then not be able to actually do anything with it ...
ReplyDeleteI think you'd have to tag the people you've found and then choose a report option that includes those notes.
ReplyDeleteIn the search list select print. Under optional fields select customize. Death notes are cause of death you also have general notes and research notes.
ReplyDeleteCustomize is on row 1 tab
ReplyDeleteKelly Booth I'm using v.7.5 so maybe it's different in v.8 but I don't see Birth, Christening or Death notes as an option under Customize.
ReplyDeleteI did not see those as an option either.
ReplyDeleteIf you chose Descendant Book report, for instance, you could tick the boxes for the notes you want and un-tick everything else. Except that you can't choose a tagged list.
ReplyDeleteYes, that will work. A bit "clunky" though as I will have to create multiple descendant reports to eventually get the notes for everyone in my file. It will wind up being thousands of pages in length.
ReplyDeleteErik Dillenkofer For Family Group Records (click on the Family tab under Reports) it's possible to choose a tagged list.
ReplyDeleteI suspect that would work better. Under that report's options you can un-tick a lot of boxes and just tick the top box under Notes for birth, christening, death, burial.
By golly ... that worked! Thank you for the suggestion!
