How do I set married surnames?

How do I set married surnames so they are in block caps and not between 'slashes'?  The image below will show what I mean.  Across the top (and everywhere else), surnames display in block caps but in the Married Names box near the bottom of the image, they are 'slashed'.  My default for display names is block caps.  Legacy 8, latest build.

  1. Does that print out anywhere? because I don't think it's a problem. I have the same thing in v.7 and I've never noticed it before actually.  The only difference I see is that my surnames are in caps but the slashes are still there.

Under Data Format is an option for Displaying Surnames that says "Show SURNAMES in uppercase letters." Mine isn't ticked but I've chosen UPPERCASE for my default Letter Case so maybe that automatically takes care of it. Possibly works differently in v.8.

  2. Yes indeed - when you look at any of the reports these slashes don't appear. I just checked this in version 8 (and I agree with JL Beeken that it has always been this way). I too use all caps for surnames and have checked the appropriate box in options. It works fine.

  3. Noted.  Thank you both.  I'll accept that this screen is an anomaly.  I have not used married names for the most part on reports, so did not notice that my default 'caps' does appear properly.
