Move the media folder to another drive without losing links - how?
Is there a way to move the media folder to another drive without losing the links to the attached individuals? I'm running out of room on the solid state boot drive.
We started out as a Google+ Community - it is closing down so we have migrated here to Blogger. This will be the place for 6+ years worth of posts and comments (an archive of sorts) as well as the place to dish up current questions, comments, and tips about our genealogy software of choice, Legacy Family Tree.
If you move all of your media files to the same drive/location, it should be a simple matter of resetting your default media location and relinking those media. I'd go to Customize: Locations to start and work from there. Run a test file and see what works, what doesn't. Basically, if you know where the media files are, you can point Legacy to them without much trouble and not lose anything in the process. I'm using terminology relative to Legacy 8. For Legacy 7 and earlier, I believe the terminology is Options rather than Customize.
