Merging a few duplicates - question.
Merging a few duplicates and noticed the counter at the bottom. Whenever I click merge both of the numbers change. Example 109 of 217 becomes 110 of 218.
Seems to me that the second number should be constant or am I missing something.
That seems to imply that behind the hood a merge actually creates a new record with combined data and inactivates both old records. Just a guess though.
ReplyDeleteTry compacting your database under File -- Maintenance. It should remove the unused records. Then do a merge and see if that second number has changed. But it's really all under the hood as +James Green has said and do James Green t your RINs or parts that you work with.
ReplyDeleteYes, sometimes merging one set creates possibilities of new others. I see that all the time when I'm merging.
