Hello! My name is Jessica LaPlante and I've joined the community after attending a webinar with Tessa. I am researching my family tree with surnames: LaPlante, Bergeron, Belville, and Weiss. The German (Weiss) line is the most difficult - if anyone has tips on searching German roots, I'd love the advice!
Spend time at FamilySearch.org -- there are databases with the German church records (both Lutheran and Roman Catholic) and Emigration documents. I was able to locate my gg grandfather and then go back another 3 generations within these records.
