How do I print To-Do items for a tagged group?

How do I print To-Do items which are for a group of tagged individuals but only for a specific repository?
When I go to the Record Selection tab of the To-Do report it seems that I can only choose to print all items for individuals with a tag number OR all individuals for a specific repository.  Have I understood this correctly?
If this is correct, does anyone have a neat workaround?  Thanks

  1. It does look like your record selection source is an either/or situation. However your what to include and sort order options both provide for repositories. If you include repositories and primary sort with repositories, when you come to print - just print the portion of the report that uses that repository. Does that work?

What I noticed when playing with this question, is that I have not included a repository in every instance so heads up - put as much information in your to-do item so you can filter and sort as necessary. Please let me know Mike if that works for you. Does anyone else have ideas?

  2. Thanks Tessa.
Yes - I agree.  I really like the ability to sort by repository so I have been through all my open To-Do's and added a repository if one was missing.

I have created some generic repositories such as "Internet Search" and have a Notepad checklist of the websites I normally use which I copy and paste into the To-Do item every time.

I have not found a really neat way to sort by BOTH repository and tag number. So far I have tried 2 workarounds. (1) I exported each sorted list to CSV files and then did some some manual sorting of printed items. This worked when my list for a repository is not too long.  (2) Secondly, I exported all my tagged individuals to a new Legacy Family File (keeping the RIN's the same). This allowed me to then just filter all To-Do's by repository.  Hope this is reasonably clear.  I will keep thinking though and would love to hear any suggestions that people have.

Thanks again for taking the time to respond.

  3. I also put the repository name in the locality field.  If you do this you should be able to select tagged individuals on the record selection tab and then on the filter options tab select this locality and add the repository.  The result should be your tagged individuals with to-do's with the filtered repository.

  4. Thanks Ronnie,

Nice work around.  I hadn't thought of that.  I will need to think about how to make that change as I have used the locality for other searches.  But your idea gives me an option now - which is great.  Thanks!

  5. Always helpful to learn how others have "worked around" limitations. Thanks Ronnie E Reynolds
