Legacy is frozen - how to fix?
I have a problem. When I open the Legacy Program and click on something it just dings and nothing happens, it's frozen. Have any of you had this problem before or know how I can fix it? I have the lastest update.
We started out as a Google+ Community - it is closing down so we have migrated here to Blogger. This will be the place for 6+ years worth of posts and comments (an archive of sorts) as well as the place to dish up current questions, comments, and tips about our genealogy software of choice, Legacy Family Tree.
Try doing a check/repair on your file if you can get to it. If that doesn't work sometimes restarting the computer helps.
ReplyDeletethat is usually a sign that some other "window" is open or at least it thinks it is open - trying waiting to see if the "tips" menu is opening or the update window.
ReplyDeleteor if possible once you have legacy open minimize it and see if there is another "window" behind it
It has happened to me when there is another Legacy window opened behind something else on my 2nd monitor. Open your task manager (Ctrl + Alt + Del and then select task manager) to see what else is open.
ReplyDeleteIt has happened to me without another window being open. I have to close everything and reboot. It's also happened when I've tried to open Foxfire. I blame it on an aging computer. Lots of strange stuff going on and I've moved all my important files to the cloud.
ReplyDeleteThank everyone for your help. The "tips" menu was behind my main screen. I had to disconnect my second monitor for the tips show up in front where I could close it.
