I question about charts in Legacy.

I've been asked a question about charts. A friend wants an ancestor chart that includes the siblings of the ancestors but not spouses or children of the siblings. I have created a family file that includes the required people but now want to make a chart that includes all. Any one got any ideas please? All I seem to be able to do is an ancestor chart with none of the siblings. I am using Legacy 8.0.0.499

  1. Great question - I made some charts for our family's wedding album (of the various families) and we had to do a work-around at the time. I don't know if any changes have been made to the charting program (haven't used it in awhile).
Anyone in our LVUG Community handy with the charting aspect - (or have other suggestions)?

  2. Judy - I asked your question today during the Friday webinar and Geoff mentioned that you can't do it in the charting that is part of Legacy, but that is in the stand alone program (I think it is called charting companion). Does anyone in this group use Excel or another program to draw their charts?

  3. Thank you very much Tessa Keough I've now looked at the particular file closely and it would be a huge chart as earlier generations were very large. I think I've convinced them it would be very unwieldy. I did wonder abour a companion program but I will not persuing it. Again thanks for your help.
