Question about values at events window.

In the latest Legacy newsletter that just arrived today this page is referenced.  My question is what are those values listed below the Events window ((B: date) (C: date) etc.)?  Also, how do you set that to display (just in case it's something I want to add :-) ).

thanks,
james

  1. Haven't a clue (and they are shown below the Events portion of the screen - it took me a minute to find them). Did Legacy not give an explanation with their newsletter item? Quite odd. Anyone here know?

  2. Ah, that explains it. That customization won't apply to many of us. Thanks Jerry Kocis

  3. Just to put a bow on this and close it out I thought I would share a bit of new found knowledge in case others were as unenlightened as I was.  I was unfamiliar LDS ordinaces and did a little poking around and found the following info.

From an email in a legacy user group archive <https://www.mail-archive.com/legacyusergroup@legacyusers.com/msg22334.html>:

"The indicators show up as a series of letters (BCIEPSC).  These stand for Baptism, Confirmation, Initiatory, Endowment, sealing to Parents, sealing to Spouse, and sealed Children.  If a letter is missing from the sequence, it means that that ordinance has not been done yet.  If a letter is displayed in lowercase, it means that some, but not all, of the ordinances of that kind have been completed (for example, only two out of four children have been sealed to the parents)."

Then I thought "what exactly is an ordinace?  From the LDS website <https://www.lds.org/topics/ordinances?lang=eng>:

"In the Church, an ordinance is a sacred, formal act performed by the authority of the priesthood. Some ordinances are essential to our exaltation. These ordinances are called saving ordinances. They include baptism, confirmation, ordination to the Melchizedek Priesthood (for men), the temple endowment, and the marriage sealing. With each of these ordinances, we enter into solemn covenants with the Lord."

Now I know.  Thanks for the help everyone.
