Legacy 'Not Responding' (freezing) - why?
Does anyone else have the problem of Legacy 'Not Responding' (freezing) when adding media? This is happening to me repeatedly & the only way out (that I've found) is to go to the Windows Task Manager so I can close Legacy but when I do that, I have to start over again attaching the media.
I have had the same experience. I find that I must not stop the process part way through and wander off to another app or web site. Most of my freezes have been because of wandering off of the process before I did a "save". Have never reported this as an issue to Legacy, it is just my "work around".
ReplyDeleteMe again with the same problem only worse now. I've emailed Legacy Support & followed their suggestions, googled "legacy family tree freezing" & "legacy family tree not responding" & followed all the suggestions there including unistalling legacy (the way they say to uninstall it) & then reinstalled it & it is still freezing. At the moment, it is only freezing on one particular event on one particular ancestor. I've added 10 jpgs to the event but when I try to add any more it freezes. I even deleted the event & re-entered it in the hope that may help but to no avail. I've been able to add media to other ancestors without any problems. I've run Legacy Check/Repair File Maintenance, List Clean up & Compact Family Family. Still no good. Anyone else experiencing this? I'm running Windows 7 & Legacy 8.0.0.467 build date 10.02.2015. HELP PLEASE
ReplyDeletemichelle kaplan . Only thing I can even think of (pre-coffee brain), try adding only ONE image at a time. Maybe one of them is causing the issue?? Add one, go do something else, reboot, restart Legacy. See if it freezes again. Slowly add back all the images, but, one at a time.
ReplyDeleteMaybe even add in the second image as the first one. Then, the third one. Who knows, it might be the first one has the issue??
I know, that is a rather lame suggestion. SIGHH Grasping at straws.
