Is there a way to print out the Index View?
I have set up the columns the way I like them, but would like to print it out to put in my paper files. Yes, I still use paper occasionally. Have tried the help menu, options, etc with no luck. Would appreciate any help. I'm new to this group and have learned a lot just reading all the older posts. Thanks in advance for help.
Not sure but I think I recall this issue being discussed over on the forum - the answer was no the index view cannot be printed but there was a "workaround" mentioned by a Legacy employee - reprinted below. I haven't tried it. Anyone else have ideas?
ReplyDelete"It won't look like the Index View, but you can print it by going to the Name List and clicking on Print. You can also create a Search List of those individuals who do not have
a birth or death date and then print just that search list if you wish. Up to 30 fields can be included if you're printing from the Deluxe Edition. (Sherry, Technical Support, Legacy Family Tree).
Thank you, Tessa. I appreciate your response and will try to work around it as you suggested. However, by doing it that way I will have to print multiple lists: missing a birth date, missing a birth place, missing a death date, missing a death place, etc. I was hoping to be able to print a list where it would easily show within a column what data was missing.
ReplyDeleteI agree that it would be a wonderful idea to be able to print the index page Claudia Sweeney. The only reason I know you can't is because I tried it! Then I searched around to see if there was a workaround or I was missing something. I think you might have to really play with the search and report features to get what you want. We should all ask for this from Legacy. I think it would be a great improvement to the program.
