Adding information from correspondence.

I received some information from a 5th cousin how do I add her address and information to correspondence?

  1. It is early for me (only one cup of coffee so far) - what do you mean? Is this person in your Legacy program? If you click on the individual screen the house icon is for residence and notes - you add this information there and it shows up under the master list addresses - mailing.

If your question is something else, please provide some additional information, and we will try again. Thanks

  2. I wonder if Pamela means using " correspondence from a 5th cousin"  as a source ?

  3. thanks that makes much more sense - what would you do Magda N? I use correspondence and the person's name (in notes you could state their relationship). Thoughts? Or am I still off base today?

  4. There are choices for the title of your source . TITLE : Personal Correspondence (type)  or  Family Records (type)  or  Nagy Family Records ( surname )  or  Nagy, Joseph Personal Correspondence  ( surname ) AUTHOR : Magda N., Joseph Nagy. In the COMMENTS or SOURCE TEXT : Nagy Family memories, Joseph Nagy , to  Magda N., New York 2009 . "Grandma Louisa is buried in Willow Cemetery......" . REPOSITORY : The address or email of the correspondent.

  5. Another option for REPOSITORY is that the correspondent sender may be deceased so I have many correspondences under PRIVATE ARCHIVE OF MAGDA NAGY.

  6. I have dozens of Master Sources named Email: [person's name]. All the email is printed as PDF and stitched together for each person. If I receive information some other way, most likely by phone, I have another Master Source for each person named Individual: [person's name] and there's no record of it.
