A question about death notes in Legacy.
I am using Legacy 8.0.0.454 and I am printing an ancestor report and it prints "Death Notes: y" under some people and nothing under others. Does anyone know what this is about? thanks.
We started out as a Google+ Community - it is closing down so we have migrated here to Blogger. This will be the place for 6+ years worth of posts and comments (an archive of sorts) as well as the place to dish up current questions, comments, and tips about our genealogy software of choice, Legacy Family Tree.
That sounds very familiar. Have you imported a family file into your database? I had the same experience after doing that. I don't know if it was in the other person's database built with different software (in this case, Family Tree Maker) and happened in the translation from their gedcom or picked up somewhere else in the process.
ReplyDeleteThat is possible. Do you know how to get rid of it?

ReplyDeleteYou could do a Search for Death Notes equals 'y' and then go through and clear each one.
Or, if there are a gazillion of them and that method seems daunting, you could very carefully, use Search and Replace, to replace 'y' with blank, making sure you're not deleting all the 'y's in your Death Notes, but only where 'y' is the only content.
