October 21st - Are you an educated genealogist?

Are you an educated genealogist? Whether it is a seminar, a community college or university course, a conference, a podcast, an online course, a webinar, a hangout, an online or offline study group, a book, a journal, a worksheet or a handout - we genealogists have so many opportunities to learn and improve our skills. And in case you missed the news, we have a great opportunity to learn from our National Archives

Over the next two days, our National Archives is hosting a virtual genealogy fair and you can join in and be part of the learning! Be sure to check out the sessions (streaming live and recorded for later viewing) and download the handouts. You can pick and choose what sessions work for you. It got started with an introduction to the two day event just over 45 minutes ago, so why not spend some quality time with our National Archives from the comfort of your home (or office or classroom)."

And be sure to check out our National Archives' website for all kinds of great information and access to records. If you are in the Washington, D.C. area - this is one place you most certainly want to visit! And check to find the locations for the regional offices - there might be one near you (shout out to the Seattle regional NARA facility and their terrific employees and volunteers).

  2. The great thing is that it is recorded (and they have their previous virtual fairs on their YouTube channel as well). Thanks for spreading the word Lorna Moloney
