How do I show the RIN next to the individual's name?
How do I show the RIN number next to the individual's name? I use to have it like that and I do not know what I did that it no longer appears. Thanks

Next to the person's name in your database? I don't know. Next to the person's name in a report? It's sometimes a report option.
ReplyDeleteDid you turn on User ID's? You can't have both of them at the same time.
ReplyDeleteYes - in the options you can turn it on to show up in the views, and in your reports. I don't know what you might have turned off.
ReplyDeleteIf you are using version 8, go to Options, select 8 - View and 8.2 gives you options to turn on various number codes.
ReplyDeleteYou can have both RINs and User IDs display at the same time in Family view. If you click on the words Born, Chr, Died, etc, for a given person, it will bring up a customize window where you can change the five principal fields that will display. I display RIN next to the person's name (Customize 8.2) and I have User ID as the last of the 5 fields, but I could just as easily have them reversed.
Ed, how do you get both RINs and User IDs to display in Family view? When I go to Options, 8.2, if I click on User ID, it unchecks RINs. Am I doing something wrong?
ReplyDeleteIf you want to show both RINs and User ID in the Family View you will need to customize your choice of 5 (click on any of the 5 and then click customize and choose User ID as one of your choices - call it User ID and then anytime you want that to show you can use that customized "choice of 5." For my part I have a few of these, but most often it is birth, baptism, death, buried, and death cause. But in Legacy you can choose! Try it
ReplyDeleteThanks, Tessa! That did the trick!
ReplyDeleteThanks, got it!
