Media issues and Legacy freezing?
Has anyone had trouble adding photos to a person? Recently I have have been having trouble adding photos to Legacy 8 and when I try to add the photos and the programs freezes.
We started out as a Google+ Community - it is closing down so we have migrated here to Blogger. This will be the place for 6+ years worth of posts and comments (an archive of sorts) as well as the place to dish up current questions, comments, and tips about our genealogy software of choice, Legacy Family Tree.
Sherri Walker . I have had that happen now and then. I have learned that Legacy does not like me backing out of the add routine, and/or having a look at a web page or other open program, even for a moment, and then, coming back.
ReplyDeleteThe answer may be using Legacy on a separate monitor. Not sure, but, that might help??
I also find that if I add a couple of images, it is wise to close, and reopen the "add" screen.
Since most software and web sites have "issues", I just work around it. Might be a good idea to report to Legacy. Never have tho.
I had the same problem with Legacy 8 and did report it to the support team. They had me reinstall, but I still have problems sometimes. Just keep my fingers crossed each time I add a photo.
ReplyDeleteI also contacted support and reinstalled. I finally wound up moving my photos to the media folder on Legacy 8 and this seemed to help but still once in awhile it freezes but it is better.
ReplyDeleteOh, dear. I have to say, and I feel extremely strongly about this, that if I felt I was forced to use the media folder, or any other method of linking and storing my media other than where I want them, well, ALL BETS off!
ReplyDeleteAny software I use must allow me to store my images and media where I want and link to that storage area. I am never going to allow the program to dictate or store the media inside the program.
We all have parameters, this is one of mine.
By the way, wishing all the community a wonderful holiday weekend.
