Legacy asking me to convert my files - what gives?

Well this is odd. Opened up Legacy and it told me I had to convert my file (??!). I originally converted my file from 7.5 to 8.0 a few months back BUT did that and now I have 2 copies of the same file. Closed out and when I opened again - you guessed it, Legacy said it needed to convert - now I have three copies of same file. Anyone else having this issue today (used Legacy yesterday and no issues).

  1. Not THAT issue. But every time I open Legacy 7 (since yesterday and I'm blaming this on Windows updates) I get two text files that have something to do with the color scheme of the Home page, and when I click on the News it recreates those two files instead of giving me an Internet connection. Duh.

As of the last time I opened Legacy 10 seconds ago it's now fixed. NOW I really don't understand.

  2. Mine opened fine. Sounds like a problem for tech support.

  4. Nope, not that issue.

I did have an issue with some photo links being messed up, but, I honestly cannot say for sure if it was not an operator error.

I would start Tessa Keough  with a full malware scan, CCCleaner scan, anything you can scan with.

Then, I would be contacting Legacy.

I am running 8.0.0.437.  Version 8.0.0.439 is waiting in the wings. I think I might wait??

  5. I would look at option 1.2 to see what it says for your "starting family file" - maybe it is different than you expected. There wouldn't be any other reason to have your file converted unless it is opening a family file you didn't intend to open.

  6. Thanks all - my computer is kept up to date for malware, spybot, ccleaner, etc. I will take a look at the file maintenance. I have never had any issues and even when I first upgraded it went super smoothly. So today's issue was very odd.

  7. You checked the version on each of those "new" files, right?  I've updated several times since upgrading to Legacy 8...

  8. Legacy 8 running just fine for me right now. I don't recall how I changed to Legacy 8 because I still have Legacy 7.5 on my HDD although I don't use it.

  9. Yes T Briggs I have both 7.5 and 8..0 on my computer and until today everything was perfect. Not sure why Legacy kept wanting to convert a file that was already converted. Ran the file maintenance and it said everything was great. So just some oddnick thing. We will see what it wants to do tomorrow!

  10. There was a problem with the last Windows 8 and 8.1 so maybe that was caused that. They have since updated the update so hopefully all is well now.
