Hello - new to LVUG community.
Hello. I am new to your group and only found it via you tube. I am enjoying the video's and tips. I am also new to Legacy and my goal is to correctly cite my sources. My research is primarily focused in Ireland, New York state and some in Canada,
Welcome to a great software and a good user group and some of the best webinars that I have seen.
ReplyDeleteif you are interested in how to cite sources, I strongly recommend the YouTube video done in Feb 2014 as part of the LVUG Hangout series. The link is:

Tessa and others talk about how they do it. I went through the Legacy tutorials, but all that does is show you the mechanics. The YouTube video shows the different approaches - either lumper or splitter. That will make sense after you watch the video.
Good luck, and welcome to the group.
thank you for pointing me to that video. It was most helpful
ReplyDeleteWelcome Noreen Allard - I am so glad that you are finding the videos helpful. Here in LVUG community we always think there are several ways of doing something (hence lumpers and splitters) and you need to do what works best for you that follows good (or best) practices.
ReplyDeleteWhenever you have a question, someone here at our community has probably had the same one and can offer some assistance.
Subscribe to the LVUG UTUBE channel there are some good videos on this subject explaining lumpers and spliters.
ReplyDeleteNoreen, please take a look at the Allard One-Name Study at
