Tuesday's Tip - Get your sleep this week!
FamilySearch.org has a 24-hour indexing event planned for July 20-21st. If everyone in the LVUG Community indexed one batch - FamilySearch and genealogists worldwide would be up 664 batches. I'm in - how about you?
I use FamilySearch.org site and appreciate the indexes and scans available free of charge to all of us. I am a big fan of their online tutorials (check out the Learning tab) and I have made use of the microfilm and books at the Family History Library. Indexing is a way to give back and is something we can all do.
If you want to have some fun with it - join DearMYRTLE as she hosts a GeneaSleepOver - more informatin at her blog (http://blog.dearmyrtle.com/2014/07/dearmyrtles-geneasleepover-worldwide.html)

ReplyDeleteAwesome concept: Have everyone index one batch.
ReplyDeleteWell you are own ringleader on this project DearMYRTLE
ReplyDeleteMe too! Working on my batch now and will just submit it on Sunday night.
ReplyDeleteGood idea Monique Riley. Mr. Myrt has half a batch done and will finish on Sunday. 😊
ReplyDeleteSherri Hessick and Karin Coppernoll this is an exciting challenge. Glad to hear you are planning to participate! 😊
ReplyDeleteCelia Lewis hope to see you online tomorrow. 😊
ReplyDeleteI tried to do some batches today to save for submission on Sunday, but couldn't resist finishing and submitting them once I started. Guess I have some OCD tendencies. :)
