Legacy can produce web pages - how do I do that?

You may or may not know that Legacy can produce web pages so you can put your family tree onto the internet. It’s relatively simple, click the Internet icon on “My Toolbar” & select “Create web pages…”. You get a dialog much like one for any report. Fill that out to your satisfaction and click “Create Web Pages” and your done. It does a reasonably good job, you can get away without having to deal with HTML programming. (Although I couldn’t resist learning some of it.)

Now the reason for the post and my question.

I cannot figure out where the various font types and sizes are controlled from. There doesn’t seem to be anything in the Web Page Creation dialog so I am thinking the fonts are controlled from some of the report settings. However no matter what changes I made in the report fonts they do not replicate in the web pages.

Your thoughts and/or suggestions would be appreciated.

  1. Bob Thompson - sorry but I don't have an answer to your question, but do you know if your photos & documents end up on the web page too?

  4. Bob Thompson the email address for Legacy Support is Support@legacyfamilytree.com. If you have the deluxe version, in the subject line type your customer number in.  You find your customer number by going to the 'Help' tab, then to 'File Properties'.  You'll find your customer number under the words 'Deluxe Edition' on top right of that pop up box.  If you don't have the deluxe version yo won't have a customer number & it may take a little longer for a reply.  There seems to be a lot more activity on the Facebook Legacy User Group.  It may also be worth your while to try there as well.  Good luck Bob Thompson & I'm sorry I was of no use to you.

  5. Hi michelle kaplan thanks for the advice above, I've sent an email to Legacy as you suggested.

I have looked at the Facebook User Group but it seems to me that questions get lost with all of the recent converted FTM users (no offense intended).

BTW "I was of no use" is not applicable as I consider all infromation as useful.

  6. I'm sure Legacy Support will be able to help you Bob Thompson, I've always found them very helpful but they must get sick of dealing with dummies like me who are not very savvy with computers.  Re the Legacy Facebook group, keep them in mind Bob Thompson things have settled down quite a lot since the initial shock of Ancestry discontinuing FTM.  What I like about the FB group is that they have support staff dotted around the globe (from what I can gather) & if you are on a different time zone to America, you can get a multitude of answers in a few hours instead of waiting 24 hours or so for one reply from support, which I usually have to follow up with yet another question for them & before you know it, 4 days have passed.  I'm in Australia & the time difference is what really annoys me with Legacy Support - not Support themselves, but the time difference.  Good Luck Bob Thompson

  7. Hi michelle kaplan FYI Michele from Legacy Technical Services advised this morning (Oz time) that there is no current ability to manipulate the web page fonts. It is however on the programmers official wish list.
