How do I include grave photos in Legacy reports?

How do I include grave photos in reports? I attached gravestone photos as media to burial date and location. I've "selected" ~everything in the options I can identify. :-)

For example, in the Report Options>Pictures, I have selected the box to include event pictures and insert the actual photo in the RTF file. The photo of the person is included but not the gravestone photo.

Additional details:
No photos are included in a report for birth, christening, death or burial. Photos are correctly shown for other events that I "add" (and as a photo of the person).

  1. I think your problem is the RTF file. It can not show a picture as a rtf. It needs to be a jpeg or BMP file.

  2. Garry Parkes Thanks for checking and confirming it should work! It still does not work for me with the same items checked, whether rtf, pdf or preview. Hopefully an update might fix it in the futire. Otherwise, I probably need to remove the program and reinstall it. :-(

  3. I thought rebooting fixed the problem but was mistaken. :-(

  4. rtf stands for rich Text Format and it is not a picture format as stated above. A rtf should be entered as a Document not as a picture, which still does not fix you prob.. The only way around that I can think of is to get a picture of your ancestors grave in jpeg, tff or bmp format and reinsert to your event as a picture. Can you send me a copy of the rtf file and I may be able to extract a copy of the picture in a jpeg. You can send it to parkesgk@gmail.com.

  5. Garry Parkes sorry for the confusion. The photos are all jpeg. The report is in rtf or pdf (both options are allowed). The photo is supposed to be embedded in the report in either format at creation.
Technical support is working with me. We tried resetting all the custom report settings but that did not fix it. So I’m waiting for the next suggestion.

  6. James Spencer I wonder if 'jgeg' is the problem. If you change the extensions to 'jpg' it might work. Try one and see.

  7. Tech support stepped me through a couple more tests, and then a de-install and re-install. Even using the sample family file, it's not working. So it appears to be something specific to my computer. I'll have to try on a different computer.

  8. SO I installed Legacy on my desktop to test out my problems. Creating a report still did not include vital fact pictures using the sample family! Asa Clark Brown has images attached to birth, death and burial, but those do not show up in the report. All other images are there. I really thought doing this would show a difference (that somehow my laptop was the problem). Possibilities:
    1) I have something set up wrong for reports? My report/picture options is shown, which seems right. Is there anything else I missed?
    2) Both my computers have something different about them? In installing Legacy9, I did get a notification that the installer program had to set something about compatibility (no details were shown), and I had to click the installer a second time for it to run.

  9. Garry Parkes In your report example above, is the grave photo attached to the burial information in Beatrice's vital facts, or did you "add" another event that stated the burial information? Thanks!

  10. Hi James
Yes I do several things in order to to show burial records and photos
1 I enter burial address here (note that the word "Buried" is Red, which indicates that it has a source.

2 Next the "+" sign is Blue, this indicates that I have entered burial address

  11. This next photo shows the address info which includes a photo of Headstone(shown) and a burial record(not shown in this snapshot).

  12. Next I enter Cemetery Records into the events with source. Notice the picture Icon and the source Icon showing at the end of the line.
