Using cloud for Legacy 9 files - what does it save?

I was surprised when I tried to use my Cloud stored Legacy 9 files they were only used for storage. I was hoping that I would be able to use my cloud-based files to keep my other machines in sync. Am I missing something? The real power of storing files in the cloud is their ability to be shared.

  1. Are you speaking about Cloud Backup, new in Legacy 9, or cloud storage apps such as Dropbox, OneNote, or Google Drive, etc? If you are talking about Legacy's backup then yes, it is only a backup, that if needed, has to be restored. If you are talking about the solutions like Dropbox then you can use it from different machines - but there are caveats in that case.

  2. I was asking about Legacy 9 Cloud Backup. There are several good blogs from other Legacy users on using Dropbox or OneDrive as a way to synchronize or move files as workarounds pre Legacy 9. After reading the articles I now understand that I would have to be careful with my file permissions (i.e. used for transfer or view only) to protect the master (administrator) files.
