Legacy was sold to MyHeritage - changes?
Word received that Legacy was sold to MyHeritage. No immediate changes expected.
We started out as a Google+ Community - it is closing down so we have migrated here to Blogger. This will be the place for 6+ years worth of posts and comments (an archive of sorts) as well as the place to dish up current questions, comments, and tips about our genealogy software of choice, Legacy Family Tree.
I don't mean to be a Negative Nancy but having lived through Family Tree Maker being sold to Ancestry has compelled me to give a jaundiced eye to any "merger" of genealogy software or whatever this is.
ReplyDeleteLegacy 9 software and the webinar annual memberships are on sale at half price in Celebration of the acquisition
ReplyDeleteI'm sticking with Legacy. I have used it almost as long as I have been doing genealogy. It is still great software no matter who owns it. Things may change but until I see a reason to jump ship I am staying put.
ReplyDeleteagree with Shannon Thomas but also understand the concerns of Judy Burns - my suggestion is that we continue to use Legacy and see what MyHeritage has in mind for the future of our program. It might be that more programmers working on improvements (Legacy has kept a list of improvements and suggestions that users have asked for) will make the program even more robust.
ReplyDeleteTessa,
ReplyDeleteSorry about that posting. I am a member of the group but unfortunately used a different email when posted.

no worries Dennis - I am sure many individuals were as surprised as I was to see that news - had family in town (from MN) for 10 days and all kinds of stuff happens - just catching up with it now.
