Want to remove the death cause line on the family view - how?

Hi, can anyone tell me how to remove the Death Cause (DthCau) line on the family page?  I thought it would be easy by looking in Options, Customize, but I don't seem to be able to find it.  I don't have this information for almost all of my people I've entered, so it is redundant.

  1. John, open the family view. Click on any one of the event descriptions. A drop down box should appear with the shown events. Click on the small box with the three dots. Another drop down will appear with every possible replacement.  If you want the line blank, that option is at the head of the column.  Click select and close.  Your page should now be changed.  The changes will be reflected in all of your data bases.  Good luck

  2. Are you talking about printing a family group sheet? If so, before you print, go to Report Options, On the Include tab, uncheck cause of death.

  3. Elizabeth, I knew there was a way to do this, but I couldn't find the instructions anywhere. Where did you find that information? I think I must have seen it in a webinar but can't find anything in the program itself.

  4. Lynda, I pulled up the Help tab, asked for Family View then customize.  Clicking the display button brought the instructions right up.   I am more interedsted in when people died then when they were buried.  There had to be a way and with Legacy it was simple.

  5. Ok, now I understand. I thought you were talking about individual events. I have so many customized views saved I forgot cause of death was a default. Just remember to save your new events screen. Something I invariably forget to do.

  6. Obviously, I just didn't look for the right thing in the help menu. Thanks again.
