Update: on my Legacy acting up.

Update: Resorted to an uninstall and new download for the reinstall. Finally working again after 90 minutes of lost time. HELP! Just installed the latest update of Legacy 9 on my PC (Windows 10). Seemed to run ok but Legacy will not start up at all now. Nothing. Looking in the programs directory, Legacy.exe is missing. Instead, there is a LegacyX.exe file. Double clicking that does not start anything (and nothing shows up in the task manager). Some sort of glitch in the updater? If so, it should be many more people than me since it came out ~6/13. Any ideas other than to uninstall and reinstall?? How do I protect my files which are not backed up to today?

Some questions about locations in Legacy.

Hi All I am very confused by the above. From reading the manual etc I get the impression that all locations should be of the form... City, County, State/Province, Country Theses should be provided with commas left to indicate missing data. Okay that's fine but what do I do with house names/numbers, street names and districts etc. For example I live in England and was born just round the corner from Penny Lane in Liverpool (Yes as in the Beatles). Anyway I lived @ 15 Gorsedale road, Mossley Hill, Liverpool, Lancashire, England, United Kingdom. So how do I map that to Legacy's standards. This all gets more complicated when I try to sync with Family Search :-( Anyway I hope someone can help as I don't want to modify some 5000 odd locations and then find they don't fit. Tuesday's Tip - a bit late in the day

For some interesting genealogy education, why not watch one or more of the sessions that were live-streamed during the recent Southern California Genealogy Society #scgs2017 Jamboree. Lots to choose from and all the big players were there in the Exhibit Hall - including +Legacy Family Tree Software. Although lots of buzz was about #DNA, there were sessions on a variety of topics and DNA had it's own day on Thursday. Check out the schedule and sign up for the sessions - you will receive an email with instructions and be able to watch the live-streamed/recorded sessions for free until July 10. Thanks to +Ancestry for sponsoring and handling the recordings. http://www.genealogyjamboree.com/ http://streaming.webcastandbeyond.com/jamboree/

Questions about linking images.

A couple question about linking images (noting that I've chosen to have a directory/folder of my choosing to contain all of my images linked to people in my family tree, telling Legacy to leave an image where it is when I link it to an individual in my tree): First, is it all right to link a given image to more than one individual? I've been hesitant to do this for fear of causing problems. And second, is there a way to determine which individual an image is linked to? Thanks very much

Will you be in Burbank, California this weekend?

Will you be in Burbank, California this weekend? Lots of genealogists and family historians will be attending #SCGSJamboree, one of the best conferences out there with great speakers, interesting topics, and an Exhibit Hall (all under one very manageable roof). Legacy Family Tree Software will be there. And if you can't make it to Burbank, #SCGS will come to you with live-streaming of several presentations. Why not put a little genealogy education on your calendar this weekend?
