Here are the marriages for Albert - he has 4 spouses - when I look at the list - it shows the multiple marriages to the same woman, where her's only shows 2 spouses which are both Albert. when I added the 2nd marriage to Lillian I did add new marriage and then link to existing person and found her in the name list. 

Michelle Kaplan - here is how I have mine entered.  You can also change how the event is worded. by going into the event details.

Mitch Parker - here is an example of how I use the Alt. Birth, its not the greatest example, but it shows the point. :)
